Sun Cellular - Not an ideal telecommunication company

This is an email communication that I sent to Sun Cellular officer regarding the complaints that I have with their company.

(around may)

First was the Broadband. The first time that this was introduced to us we were opted to have the service since we need it for our daily activity. My place in Makati is near in Market! Market! so I decided to ask for the details. Aside from that, because of some research that I had I knew that you were able to lend us trial units to check if the BB is actually feasible to our area reason for us to ask this request at Market! Business Center.

As mentioned, we visited the Market BC to ask for the details of the BB and also ask them if they can lend us the service unit or the trial unit. A girl officer (Florimel Rosita), if I am not mistaken assists us. I asked her if I can borrow the said unit, her response was actually there are no available units and it will take approximately 3 days to send back the service unit. I asked her if I can contact them or contact us for us to go back and have the service unit picked up. She provided me a number that was a cellphone number. 2 days have passed I did not received any update from them and what I did is actually text them and call them but I did not received any response.

Since we are eager to get the BB unit, we went back to Market! BC, for the second time. I look for Florimel Rosita again and asked where we can get the said unit. Her reply was there is no available unit again, if we want there will be upcoming demo on the next day if I want to I can grab that. I told her I am not so sure but please inform me so I'll know what to do.

I never had an update from her.

Since we did not receive an update from her, I went back for the third time and asked the same questions. They told me the same things. Moreover, they told me that if I want to I can switch a business center and avail this on Valenzuela Branch which I first decline because I spend more days here in Makati. Things have been not so good. I was really pissed of coming back and fort without any notice from them/her.

I asked her, what is the sense of giving me the contact number if you will not be responding to our messages nor calling/texting us back? It defeats the purpose having that number, right?

Things are being more complicated - we have been going round in circles. I asked her manager so I can report and explain the incident. She explained that the manager is not around, any OIC or number. At first they are hesitant to give the number. I asked for the Head Office number so I can file a complain, they told me that they do not have access on it, only the manager has. I asked her again if I can contact the manager so I can get those details. She provided me the number.

I was trying to contact the manager but the manager is not answering the cellphone. A guy butt in and asking for some consideration - (Jeffrey Nepomuceno). I told him that he did not know what happened and we had some arguments on the same things and I told him to shut up because he knows nothing. He replied back to me murmuring - "shut up". I confronted him, and ask him what he just said to me? at first he's denying the word that he said I replied back that he is saying something. At the end, he confess that he is just repeating the word that I said which is something that I was really get more pissed off.

I got back to Florimel and asked for her manager. She was actually successfully contacted her manager. She did not gave the phone to me so I can actually speak to her and ask for the details but what she did is she went to their "cabin'" and speak to her manager. After a while, she hung the phone. I asked her, where is your manager? she replied back and saying some things - I cut her off, where is the contact number and/or the head office number. She replied NONE!. How come that earlier you mentioned to me that your manager has the information and now you can't provide me anything? How come that you will be able to speak to your manager but you did not actually offer me to speak to her and asked her few question. Why she did not follow my simple instructions or just get me the details. Why? She did not respond back to me.

There is this guy name - Butch Telesforo. He also butt in and made some excuses. I pointed him why I was mad. Why I should experience this whole crap. He apologizes as the same as the others but they can't see the point why I was mad. He asked me that I can get the BB in Valenzuela instead and I need not to worry because they will be forwarding the application. We argued and going around the circles again.

I was mad and really annoyed on that time, I cut it off and get out on the BC, but they are closing that time and the "steel door" (i don't know how you call it) were almost half way down. I pushed it with full forced and it was a bit hard. Butch shouted at me and asked me - "kapag nasira ba yan babayaran mo" I was surprised that at the end he is not done I respond back "oo babayaran ko" Then Butch pick a fight with me. He even mentioned "kung hindi ako naka-uniform, gaganitohin mo ako" he is even cursing me and saying "suntukan nalang tayo" in front of my face.

We walked out just to cut it off and I asked for the security to held Butch.

Right after that I went to Market! security to report the incident. We should have a meeting on the next day but with Market! Security office but it was cancelled because the manager was not able to make it. Really uncooperative.

I reported it to hotline and file a report but no response until now.

(around end of june)

Next is when my my wife had to go to China for some business and of course we need to activate the roaming service of our postpaid line. I called your hotline and I was able to talked to a Rep of Sun (Marlon M.) at around 1130 am and I want to confirm if they offer the yahoo chat to china so my wife can actually use it. Then this rep told me that they have, and actually they have unlimited service for a week for only 100 pesos. I was so glad when I heard that however, I want to make sure so I asked him and confirm it again and again to (marlon) if this is the correct rate. The he is kept on saying YES. So what I did is instruct my wife to use this service so we chat, and we did like until 1am. To my surprise my wife was not responding to my messages on the next day and I received an email from her that she was not able to respond. So what I did is call sun hotline again, I was so shocked that our line was disconnected because the current charge was over the limit. So I ask the rep why? They told me that I have approx 3,000 pesos that I should settle. I wonder where it came from and they confirm that it was from roaming charges. To cut the story short, Marlon gave me false information and the Y.M service is not unlimited. More frustrating is they want me to pay the 3k so they can revert back the connection. I was really pissed off when I heard that, so I escalate it to their Supervisor (Randy). I spoke to him for almost 4 hours just to resolve the issues. He reach out to two departments, the one who will verify the call (with marlon) and other one is the billing. Of course, my complains were valid and they confirmed that it was a false information and I am not lying to them, the fact is why should I? Randy promise me that it will be resolve within 24 hours since it was verified, so I waited for 24 hours and asked my wife if the line was activated and she confirms that it is not yet active. Then I called again to confirm it, and as usual they did not do what they just said again - it is still barred. It was really annoying and frustrating and since Randy is in morning shifts the graves Reps and supervisors that I spoke just reported it and escalate it to Randy and ask me to call again the next day. 11am I called them again and they make excuses but they assure that it will revert my phone line. After few discussions and after an hour or two my line got back.

From there I want to see if my charges was right and it took a long time and effort just to see if the charges was revert back. I exerted a lot of effort calling sun hotline just to follow it up and I even went to Valenzuela BC.

The person that I spoke with actually confirms the charges was back but base on charges they are still overcharged 200+ and up to now I don't know what happened.

Recently, my line got disconnected again. Because they told me that I owe them. Yes I know I owe you but after all what happened and it is my right to check my statements. But I received this statement very late. How can you trust the company who is not doing the right thing.

I even called and asked for some details and they told me that I need to settle at least 4000 to get my phone back. I was travelling that time that is why I was not able to pay it. it was around 8-9pm I noticed that my phone was barred. I called in again and it was confirmed. I explain what is happening. But still I was pushed to pay it. That evening I want to settle it but only 7-11 convenience store that I know offers payments. I tend to pay but they did not want to accept the payment because they said it will not posted because it was evening already. I called in again and told them what is happening. I told them that I want to settle it because I need my phone back. I even asked them if they accepts payments over the phone so I can settle it but they do not have one. They are pushing me to make a payment so I can use my phone back and that is what I am doing. I even ask the OIC that I spoke with that if they can revert my phone back for just 30 minutes and cut it off again I just need to have it back that time. But nobody listen.

The next day early in the morning I went to Valenzuela BC and made my payment and to my surprise I can't have my phone unless I will be calling the hotline again and request for it also they are going to help my emailing some department for such request.

I phoned the hotline and of course, they cannot help me again! I already settled the 5000 balance but still the CS told me that I need to wait for the payment to be posted. I thought that once I made my payment problem is resolved now another headache. I explain it again to the rep. Then after few minutes, and asked for a supervisor he replied back to me and told after lunch the connection will revert back.

How come that you will just disconnect the line of your clients in just a glimpse of an eye however they are not receiving the bills on time. How come that you have already made your payment you need to suffer another day just to get back your phone. How come the phone service is poor?

After these incidents I decided to get rid of Sun specifically your mobile phone service. Yes, I can save money but it gives me headaches and problems. I know that I signed a contract but I also know that I have my right to be treated as a valued client even though I am new at Sun and using it for a year and 5 months. I should not receiving wrong information and wrong charges.i should received my bills on time. I should be receiving updates or follow-ups if your employees told me that I'll be getting one. Why this is not happening? And now they are telling me that if I want my phone line to be disconnected I need to pay 20000+++++. But the pain and trouble that you brought is more than the amount that you want to charge me.

My suggestion is if you want to try them and experience the same thing, go ahead and apply for their postpaid line but if you don’t want trouble get rid of Sun.

La Viriginia Resort - Batangas

Swimming on August is not actually a good idea but at some point we tend to go in a certain resort found in Manggahan, Lipa Batangas. The La Virginia Resort.

Since we do not have our own car and we love exploring things – and since Paris, one of our friends has an idea where we are going to we decided to depart from Manila riding a Bus.

At Buendia bus station we took the Lipa Batangas – note: there are two Batangas Trip in Buendia, and it is approximately 2.5 hours to get in Lipa City, specifically Robinsons Lipa. Bus Fare: 124 pesos From Robinson Lipa, another 30mins jeepney drive to Mataas na Kahoy. From Mataas na Kahoy you will be riding a tricycle to get in to the resort. Jeepney Fare:11Php/Tricycle: 40.

Good thing that we had reservation because the cottage – tree house is good for only one group. From the gate of the resort you will be asked the name of the person who made the reservation

then they will be heading you to the reception area. At the reception area you need to pay for the cottage fee and for the pool fee- 300Php. One of the receptionists will guide you to your cottage.

As mentioned we rented their tree house bottom cottage which cost 500Php. It was a four storey tree house but the 2nd-4th floor is open for public therefore, it is not really a good idea that if you will be renting the same cottage and no one will secure your area. You will be also using their public toilets and showers but it’s okay because their comfort rooms and showers are clean. They also have public sink where you can prepare your food. You need not to worry if you forgot to buy some junk foods or cola because they offer these on their convenience store and the price is the same if you are going to buy in sari-sari stores and bit cheaper rather buying at 7-11 or Mini Stop. They also offer disposable cups, plates not sure if they also have spoon and forks.

The resort is new but they maintain the cleanliness and a beautiful façade. You will not feel or even notice that they are renovating or adding pools on the resort because you will be attracted the way the built the cottages such as the ifugao cottage and their cute Kabute(mushroom) cottages. Aside from these they have trees and different kinds of plants which you can see everywhere. They also have stone bride and hanging bride. I was also attracted in their Pagoda and not mention their Ifugao Village.

At that time they can only offer two public pools the Infinity and Dolphin. I was stuck the way they built the Infinity pool whereby if you can see the beauty of the Taal Lake and the mountains. Aside from that, if you can go the 4th floor of the Tree house you can see almost half view of the Resort and

I can assure you that it was captivating.

Even though there are some unwanted circumstances happened we are still happy visiting the resort, we may or we may not be able to visit it again, I recommend this Resort and experience the fascinating façade of the resort.

The resort was approximately 5-6 hectares and one of the largest resort private resorts in Batangas. The resort also offers Hotel accommodations, Events such as Social or Corporate Functions. Wedding is also part of their list that they can accommodate.

She

I met this girl when I was in college. The first time that I saw her, I just ignore her. No feelings at all. We were been classmates for three years. She has her own life and me? Yes.

In our third year, I don’t know how it happens but there is something inside of me that I can’t explain. I asked her if your friend fall in love with you how will take care of it? – She answered, of course I really don’t want it, take note with eeewww..

From there I told myself to stop it, find someone, search, explore and fortunately – I am still in love with her.

In those days, she has her own knight in shining armor. She shares her inspiring stories, lovable experiences and ideal thoughts of love. In such situation, I need to do something that I can ease the pain inside of me. I created a perfect love in imagination. If shares her love affair I won’t last a day that I won’t share mine. Hilarious. She didn’t care anyways.

I am with her in School, in the office – on the job training and in my workplace? Funny right? Still it seems that she is not seeing me as her Man of her perfect dreams.

It was April of 2007, a month after our graduation. Her Knight in Shining armor did something to make her disappointed. And of course, her not-man-of-her-dreams came to the rescue. It’s my time :) I still remember how I did it Perfectly :) “Hindi na sya sasama sayo sa akin na siya sasama, uuwe sya sa bahay namin” Isn’t a nice script for that moment?

My BDay celebration plus graduation. Not to mention – aside from my “imagination relationships” which I share with her. I have my own stories with my family, I share to them that she’s my acclaimed official imagination mother girlfriend :) I invited her actually pushed her be with us in my celebration. Luckily, she was there. I have a niece that was so voluble. She actually told her – “ikaw daw yung girlfriend ni tito, ikaw si tita Maja diba?” How amazing right?

That was the day that she was very very very confused. But I decided and told myself that this the perfect day!

April 22 same year, Pampanga, at around 2-3 in the afternoon. She asked me – “ano ba talaga ako sayo” and I answered. Mahal kita and that was the first and magical hugs and kisses :)

The Cab Ride by Kent Nerburn

This is a short story of life and realization.

Twenty years ago, I drove a cab for a living. It was a cowboy's life, a life for someone who wanted no boss. What I didn't realize was that it was also a ministry. Because I drove the night shift, my cab became a moving confessional. Passengers climbed in, sat behind me in total anonymity, and told me about their lives. I encountered people whose lives amazed me, ennobled me, made me laugh and weep. But none touched me more than a woman I picked up late one August night. I was responding to a call from a small brick fourplex in a quiet part of town. I assumed I was being sent to pick up some partiers,or someone who had just had a fight with a lover, or a worker heading to an early shift at some factory for the industrial part of town. When I arrived at 2:30 a.m., the building was dark except for a single light in a ground floor window. Under these circumstances, many drivers would just honk once or twice, wait a minute, then drive away. But I had seen too many impoverished people who depended on taxis as their only means of transportation. Unless a situation smelled of danger, I always went to the door. This passenger might be someone who needs my assistance, I reasoned to myself. So I walked to the door and knocked. "Just a minute," answered a frail, elderly voice. I could hear something being dragged across the floor. After a long pause, the door opened. A small woman in her 80s stood before me. She was wearing a print dress and a pillbox hat with a veil pinned on it, like somebody out of a 1940s movie. By her side was a small nylon suitcase. The apartment looked as if no one had lived in it for years. All the furniture was covered with sheets. There were no clocks on the walls, no knickknacks or utensils on the counters. In the corner was a cardboard box filled with photos and glassware. "Would you carry my bag out to the car?" she said. I took the suitcase to the cab, then returned to assist the woman. She took my arm and we walked slowly toward the curb. She kept thanking me for my kindness. "It's nothing", I told her. "I just try to treat my passengers the way I would want my mother treated". "Oh, you're such a good boy", she said. When we got in the cab, she gave me and address, then asked, "Could you drive through downtown?" "It's not the shortest way," I answered quickly. "Oh, I don't mind," she said. "I'm in no hurry. I'm on my way to a hospice". I looked in the rearview mirror. Her eyes were glistening. "I don't have any family left," she continued. "The doctor says I don't have very long." I quietly reached over and shut off the meter. "What route would you like me to take?" I asked. For the next two hours, we drove through the city. She showed me the building where she had once worked as an elevator operator. We drove through the neighborhood where she and her husband had lived when they were newlyweds. She had me pull up in front of a furniture warehouse that had once been a ballroom where she had gone dancing as a girl. Sometimes she'd ask me to slow in front of a particular building or corner and would sit staring into the darkness, saying nothing. As the first hint of sun was creasing the horizon, she suddenly said, "I'm tired. Let's go now." We drove in silence to the address she had given me. It was a low building, like a small convalescent home, with a driveway that passed under a portico. Two orderlies came out to the cab as soon as we pulled up. They were solicitous and intent, watching her every move. They must have been expecting her. I opened the trunk and took the small suitcase to the door. The woman was already seated in a wheelchair. "How much do I owe you?" she asked, reaching into her purse."Nothing," I said. "You have to make a living," she answered. "There are other passengers," I responded. Almost without thinking, I bent and gave her a hug. She held onto me tightly. "You gave an old woman a little moment of joy," she said. "Thank you." I squeezed her hand, then walked into the dim morning light. Behind me, a door shut. It was the sound of the closing of a life. I didn't pick up any more passengers that shift. I drove aimlessly, lost in thought. For the rest of that day, I could hardly talk. What if that woman had gotten an angry driver, or one who was impatient to end his shift? What if I had refused to take the run, or had honked once, then driven away? On a quick review, I don't think that I have done anything more important in my life. We're conditioned to think that our lives revolve around great moments. But great moments often catch us unaware--beautifully wrapped in what others may consider a small one.

PEOPLE MAY NOT REMEMBER EXACTLY WHAT YOU DID, OR WHAT YOU SAID, BUT THEY WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HOW YOU MADE THEM FEEL.
